Amber Lewis is the Racial Justice Research Assistant at the Center on Poverty and Social Policy at Columbia University and a recent graduate of Columbia School of Social Work. She dedicated her academic year towards researching Indigenous rights and the prevalence of concentrated poverty and infrastructural inequities on homeland territories throughout the United States. Between her first and second year at the School of Social Work, Amber served as a Community Engagement Specialist with NYC Health + Hospitals' Test & Trace Corps, where she conducted home visits to individuals diagnosed with COVID-19 and their contacts to ensure that they had necessary means for isolation and quarantine, including food, medication, and shelter. She has a deep passion for advancing health and mental health equity and has dedicated her career towards uplifting marginalized communities. Amber also received her undergraduate degree from Columbia University. She has hopes of someday utilizing her clinical experience in the realm of policy, research, and education at the School of Social Work.
